Avalanche prevention

Today I want to tell you not about an accident or casualty but about an avalanche prevention in the Carpathians. In all times there was a great risk of avalanche in Carpathians which is not surprising,Carpathians is the biggest mountain system which extends on many other eastern countries of Central Europe.
Visegrat fund-is an organisacion which started in 2011/12. The aim of the project is the analyses of the current situation of the evalanche prevention and the readiness of the Ukrainian Mountain Rescue Service to help tourists in extraordinary situations.

The number of ski tourists from Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia in the Ukrainian Carpathians is increased every year. These tourists create 60% of all recreationists in the region,so that the avalanche prevention methods and methodicals are more important than ever

The work in the terrain is necessary it is important to localize the avalanche areas where people or objects can be affected by avalanches and to create a map of avalanche prone terrain. The part of the work is also the monitoring of readiness to help, improvement of avalanche knowledge’s and awareness of recreationists.

You should observe the weather,the snowpack and the terrain
Get the equipment
There is no sense of being over-equiped,its better to keep in my mind that everything depends on you and the gear equipment can be non-used at all
Observe and monitor current situation
Observing changes in mountains is an ongoing process even after initial assessment.
